“The greatest gifts you can give your children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.” — Denis Waitley
There is something quietly powerful about a toy. It is not just an object — it is an invitation to imagine, to create, to explore. And in March, as part of our Open Hands project, we had the joy of bringing that invitation to the children of SMF Nireekshana, a school for differently-abled children in Bangalore that holds a very special place in our hearts.
What We Gave
We delivered a collection of toys to Nireekshana — building blocks at the heart of it. Simple, tactile, endlessly versatile. The kind of toy that asks nothing of a child except their curiosity, and rewards it with towers, bridges, creatures, and worlds entirely of their own making.

For the children at Nireekshana, play is more than fun — it is learning, it is development, it is expression. Building blocks in particular are wonderful that way. They encourage problem-solving, creativity, and fine motor skills, all wrapped up in something that just feels like play.
Why Nireekshana
We have visited Nireekshana before, and every single time, we leave with our hearts a little fuller. The spirit in that space — the warmth of the staff, the brightness of the children — is something you simply cannot put into words. It is a community that gives so much, and it is a privilege to give something back.

Through Open Hands, we want to keep doing exactly that — meeting real, tangible needs with real, tangible love.
Be Part of It
This is what a little more love looks like. And we want to keep going.
If you’d like to support future efforts — whether it’s groceries, toys, or whatever the need may be — please consider donating or joining us. Every contribution, big or small, finds its way into the hands of someone who needs it.
