This past weekend, the Little Sisters of the Poor Old Age Home held their annual fete – and we were right where we love to be: in the middle of it all, games in hand, laughter in the air.
Every year, we set up our Fun-raising stall at this much-loved event, and every year it reminds us of something simple and true: joy is contagious, and fun is one of the most generous things you can offer someone.
What We Got Up To
This year, our stall was packed with games that challenged, delighted, and brought out everyone’s inner competitor.
From children darting through to adults convinced they’d ace the memory game (they tried their best!), the stall drew in people of all ages. Every game played meant funds raised — and every rupee raised goes directly towards supporting the residents of the Little Sisters of the Poor Old Age Home.
That’s the beauty of Fun-raising: it doesn’t feel like giving. It feels like playing. And yet, something real and meaningful is built in the process.
Why We Keep Coming Back
This isn’t a one-time thing for us. Year after year, we return to this fete because the Little Sisters of the Poor Old Age Home holds a special place in our hearts. The residents, the sisters, the spirit of the place — there’s a warmth here that draws you back.
And there’s something deeply right about showing up for people in a space of celebration. A fete is a joyful thing. The elderly residents of this home deserve joy, laughter, and the knowledge that their community hasn’t forgotten them — that people are, in fact, playing games and raising funds and cheering loudly, all for them.
Fun That Gives Back
At Little More Love, we believe that doing good doesn’t always have to be solemn. Sometimes it looks like a hero race. Sometimes it looks like a child squinting hard at a memory game, tongue out in concentration. Sometimes it looks like a stall full of laughter on a weekend morning.
That’s what Fun-raising is all about.
