The Beautiful Ones – Painting smiles at Jeevarathni

On 29th October we went back to a place we can’t seem to get enough of (do you even have to wonder?)

Okay, just in case – Jeevarathni, the lovely destitute children’s home.

And we had the privilege of organizing an art workshop for these delightful cuties.

Thanks to Sudeep Muthyala and his brilliant art skills, we painted some very wide smiles on the kids who couldn’t get enough of the paints, paper and letting their imagination get wild on paper and be inspired to create something beautiful.

His session on art really helped them in understanding that art helps them in becoming themselves, instead of more like everyone else and how it awakens the sense of wonder in the world and liberates you.

The session truly brought the Picasso and Van Gogh in these little trots and showed them that creativity takes courage, takes surrender and brought out the sense of joy and wonder in each of them and we couldn’t have asked for more.

Of course we didn’t just stop at creating art (how could we?), we always always have games, singing and dancing in the Jeevarathni house and this day  was no exception.

These kids are the coolest and they spoil us with their hearts and their ability to love freely and lavishly.  We had the best of times seeing them filled with wonder  excitement  and joy and so blessed that we get  the opportunity to make their world a little brighter and share a little kindness their way.

Let’s always build encouragement and emphasize hope, value and belonging.

Lets always be a reminder to children on how worthy they are, how purposeful their lives are and how much value they have.
