“It is not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.” — Mother Teresa
In April, as part of our Beautiful Ones initiative, we walked through the doors of His Paradise For The Deserted Children’s Home in Lingarajapuram — a home that cares for severely disabled and abandoned children. And honestly, we are still carrying it with us.
A Place That Asks Everything of Your Heart
We went in knowing, broadly, what to expect. And yet nothing quite prepares you for the reality of it — the rows of little ones, many of them paralysed, many of them living with profound physical or mental disabilities, all of them deserving of so much more than the world has given them so far.

It was heartbreaking. We won’t pretend otherwise.
And yet — and this is the part that stays with us the most — it was also quietly, unexpectedly uplifting.
Because these children smiled.
At a gentle touch. At a face leaning in close to say hello. At the smallest, simplest acts of kindness — the kind that cost nothing and mean everything. Their smiles were enormous, unhurried, completely unguarded. The kind that reminds you what joy really is, stripped of everything unnecessary.
We played with them. We sat with them. We were present with them. And in those moments, that was enough. More than enough.
What They Need
While we were there, we took the time to understand what the home needs — practically, urgently. The staff work tirelessly and with deep love, but the needs are real and many. Here is what’s on the list:
- Induction stoves and induction vessels
- Dry fruits
- Water flasks
- Bedsheets and dry sheets
- Protective headgear for the children

We are hoping to raise funds to purchase these items and bring them back to the home soon. These are not luxuries — they are the everyday essentials that make care possible, that make dignity possible.
How You Can Help
If this visit has moved you the way it moved us, please consider making a donation towards the needs of His Paradise. Every rupee goes directly towards something on that list — something a child there needs today.
Donate here and help us go back with our hands — and our hearts — full.
And join us.
Because those children smiled at the smallest acts of kindness. Imagine what a little more love could do.

“The simple act of caring is heroic.” — Edward Albert
