A Day at Jeevarathni

November 5, 2016

There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.

– Mandela

What a day, April 27! Playing, singing, dancing and a whole lot more with the kids at Jeevarathni Foundation, Nallur Village!

Jeevarathni Foundation is an organisation working to bring about lasting changes in the lives of economically deprived children, specially abled children, the aged and communities living in poverty and injustice. We simply HAD to visit this place! We received the warmest welcome possible (no, we aren’t referring to the heat), and soon after, we got down to business. What business you ask? Well, we played dodge ball, kho-kho, cricket, catch and of course, danced till we dropped. Alright so Little More Love dropped, the kids just wouldn’t stop! They have amazing energy levels, all thanks to the wonderful care given by Jeevarathni.

The main intention behind our visit was to spread joy and bring smiles upon the children’s faces. But can you believe, the roles were reversed! The kids, through their openness and warmth, showed us a lovely time and also helped us revisit our own childhood.

The foundation would love your help in terms of funds, sponsorship or volunteer hours. Do visit their website, given above, to know more. Also, Support Jeevarathni Foundation by liking their page on Facebook.

On Sunday, 1st June 2014, Jeevarathni Foundation is hosting a 5k marathon, Run For Jeevarathni 2014.
